It is with deep regret that I am posting this but following an email yesterday, IPE will suspend all activities until further notice.
Over the last several weeks it has become harder and harder for us to bring the tournaments to you guys and following an email yesterday notifying us that Mint Casino, Manchester have decided to run their own in house monthly comp thus no longer requiring the services of IPE . In addition, there has been a fundamental change that IPE would need to incorporate in the way we work, this would require a complete change to our current business model. Obviously following the disappointment at Stoke last month it came as a massive knock to us, this in addition to a difficult economic climate, declining attendances and increased costs, the time has come to draw a line in the sand.
Saying that, we have a commitment to Blackpool with the Leader board and we will discuss this situation in particular with the new GM at Circus Casino, Blackpool and make a announcement in the near future. The scheduled tournament at Liverpool at the end of the month has been cancelled.
On that note I’d like to thank each and every player who has played in any of the Megastacks. Your continued support has meant so much to all of us and made it all worthwhile. I would like to also take the opportunity to thank Rick Gilby and Martin Devlin for their efforts throughout. Although James isn’t with us any more I’d also like to thank him for all his efforts whilst he was with the company….TOP DRAWER. Finally I’d like to thank Raf White for his continued support in Manchester, without his input we would have struggled. If anyone needs to know anything about the Manc poker scene I know the man you need to talk to…MR CARLSBERG!!!!!From a personal point of veiw I'd like to wish you all the best with everything you do in the future and Thanks again for all your hard work and efforts throughout :)
I think it goes without saying that the final thanks in all of this HAS to go to all the crowd at Genting, Gary Oakes has supported IPE beyond the call of duty with all the “Last Man Standing” added value and for that I am very grateful.
We have had some highs and some lows but no-one can say we didn’t try…I don’t think people realized how much time and effort went into this on a daily basis from all concerned from the second we started. We didn’t always get it right but I’d like to think we always listened and learnt from our mistakes. It’s been great working with you all and meeting every one of you and I look forward to seeing you at the tables in the future.
